The programme will take place between 8th March and the 19th March 2021. You do not need to be available full time during those dates but you do need to be able to complete 10 hours of work over the 2 weeks.
The deadline for applications is March 1st 2021 and all applicants will hear if they have a place on the programme on the 3rd of March.
To apply for this programme you must have an interest in a career in healthcare, be predicted or have attained Level 4 in GCSE Maths and English, be in Years 10-13 and attend a school or college within 19 miles of the Great Western Hospital, Marlborough Road, Swindon, SN3 6BB.
You’ll meet professionals in live
workshops and be able to ask
them questions.
You’ll complete activities and work assignments to develop skills and knowledge.
Students aged 14-18 are welcome to apply.
This programme is free for students.

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has around 1.2 million patient contacts a year. They provide healthcare to the people of Swindon and the surrounding areas, offering the latest treatments and care in hospital, in the local community and in people’s own homes.
This year, Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are giving you the unique opportunity to discover what a career in healthcare is like during this 2 week Virtual Work Experience programme. The programme will give students in Years 10-13 an overview of what a career in healthcare can offer, looking specifically at Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Clinical Psychology, Allied Health Professionals and non-clinical roles.
You will take part in live Q&A sessions with health care professionals, meet some of the GWH team and complete activities specifically designed to help you launch your healthcare career.
